📍 Location: Bloomingdale, IL
🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift
💰 Pay: $50,000 base + up to 5% merit-based bonus

Your Role as an Expediter:

As an Order Expediter, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer orders ship on time according to agreed-upon lead times. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this position is responsible for coordinating across internal departments throughout the manufacturing process, proactively identifying at-risk orders, and maintaining clear communication with both sales representatives and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Order Tracking & Coordination

  • Work closely with all departments to track work orders throughout the manufacturing process

  • Use Big Bolt’s ERP system to monitor work order status on the shop floor

  • Communicate with Purchasing regarding all outside service inquiries

🔹 Customer & Sales Communication

  • Proactively communicate with sales representatives regarding orders at risk of becoming past due

  • Provide customers with timely and accurate order status updates

  • Act as a central point of contact to ensure expectations are clearly communicated and managed

🔹 Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional responsibilities as needed


What You Need to Succeed:

Key Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for satisfaction and follow-through

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of ERP and CRM systems

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (Business Administration or similar preferred)

  • 2+ years of customer service experience preferred

  • Prior experience in the fastener or manufacturing industry is a plus, but not required

  • Eagerness to learn the industry and grow within the organization
